FACE THE HEAT

Fury Tips face the heat

stay cool!

When the sun comes out, the biker leaves his winter cocoon to wear lighter equipment and ride all summer long. Before turning into a cicada, don’t forget your inner ant: caution is the best policy.

Choosing summer gear is tricky. To give you the best tips, we interviewed the Motion Lab‘s head technician.

The specifications
of a good summer garment

A Furygan summer garment must meet the same protection standards as a winter garment, favouring breathability and good air circulation, while keeping a relatively light weight and an adapted size.

As far as materials are concerned, preference is given to mesh for optimal ventilation. If you are looking for more discretion and the technical aspect of mesh does not suit you, some products like the Kenya Evo or the Taaz have benefited from work on the placement of ventilation or on their lining where comfort in high temperatures and efficient evacuation of perspiration are paramount.

  • Ergonomically, your equipment should be closer to the body, to avoid any fluttering of material that could become a nuisance, and ensure the proper placement of protections. We have therefore developed several sizes according to the seasonality of the product, to ensure that you can always use the same size as a reference, with a garment that always offers the best in terms of comfort and protector.
  • On the approval side, we reinterpret the design of our style office to adapt it to the constraints of standardisation of motorcycle EPI, while trying to provide maximum comfort to bikers. So when a garment has to be perforated – like the Mistral Evo3 – we have to take care of the placement of the perforation zones. This is combined with the outer material, which may meet the requirements for comfort and design, but may not be suitable in terms of strength. This gives rise to Skin Protect linings, which can become extremely complex due to their assembly of multiple materials and their meticulous constructions on which the user’s safety depends. The technicality of a summer jacket does not stop at the quality of its ventilation.

Ventilation and versatility

Even in the summer, think about the weather contingency, and consider jackets that incorporate versatile technologies, such as the 2W1 with a removable thermal and waterproof liner, and the 3in1 with two removable liners.

Each country in which our garments are marketed has its own specificities. From the humidity in Malaysia, to the drought in some American states. Even within the same country, or from one biker to another, the feeling of temperatures varies significantly. This is why Furygan develops a wide range of summer product solutions. From 100% ventilated like the TX Furyo or the Mistral Evo3 Lady, the 3in1 (Ultra Spark 3in1 Vented), as well as our 2W1 lined products (WB07 2W1 Vented Evo), whose waterproof and quilted lining will please all those who want to stay cool when the rain has made the temperature drop.

This versatility is our answer to the challenge of summer’s wide range of weather conditions, so we can offer riders the best option for their needs.
